Before Burklyn welcomed guests, this was Louise Darling's bedroom, and it still feels like a private retreat. The suite takes its name from the direction it faces: southwest, toward a small corner of Lyndonville known as Egypt. Look up, too. Egypt is one of only two suites where the original hand-painted ceiling remains, its corners marked with an artful "E." Light and long views pour in from two sides. The sitting area, set beside the original decorative fireplace, invites you to linger over coffee or a glass of wine from Darlings. A king bed, writing desk, and large marble bath with walk-in shower bring modern comfort to the room's history. Two closets make Egypt an easy choice for longer stays, and its 458 square feet leave plenty of space to unwind.
